Welcome to CDM Blog

I always have to think about where this idea of a drone company, or even drones in general, came from for me. Was it the first RC car I had when I was little, or was it the first time I saw my teacher bring in an RC replica Spitfire? What was it?

I think it's always been there. The idea to create something cool but also practical, useful, and new. Something that can help people visualize ideas. I knew as soon as a drone program at my regional school came to light, I was in. First to sign up, I was in. Did I know it would be the start of my career as a year 8 student... no, but I did it.

The RePL had a fairly new test at the time and lots of content for a school kid, so over 2-3 years, 3 terms, once a week, 3 others and I studied our RePL and other topics to do with drones and the technology. It seemed like a lot of content at the time, but all four of us did it. The youngest RePL holders ever at 14! Crazy to think that was 9 years ago. I like to look back and think what could have been. Why I didn't follow my friends to extracurriculars like cooking or science. I knew there was something there.

Now here we are. My story is shaping what CDM Drones is today. The drive and passion are still there and the motivation continues every day. I see how this technology is advancing, but with advancements comes time-saving, risk management, and just a whole lot of fun. CDM Drones continues to try to think like I did during those 3 years. Open-minded to the technology and excited to learn what's new!

I am so excited to start this blog and bring people, even if it's just Mum and Dad, along for this amazing ride. The past year has been a whirlwind, so cheers to what's next.
